Last Mountain Timber was established in 1998. We can not talk about LMT without talking about Lincoln. The mindset of this company started with Lincoln’s first memories as a boy going to work with his Dad who worked in demolition. The waste produced during demolition and construction left an impact on Lincoln. His company, LMT, does its best to minimize waste and to honour not just the timber, but the trees and the environment that can produce this invaluable resource.
In Lincoln’s youth, he was a tree planter all over Western Canada. After pounding in three-quarters of a million trees he got a job with a timber-framing company in Southern BC and began his lifelong journey of learning the craft and art of hand-cutting structural timber frames.
He returned to Saskatchewan in the ’90s when the iconic grain elevators started to be taken down. At that time, Lincoln hit the road, driving all over the province to forge relationships with demolition companies that were taking down the elevators. Lincoln saw the business opportunity, but more than this; he was driven to save and recycle the old-growth timbers, the best wood this country has grown. To date, Last Mountain Timber has saved and repurposed the timbers from over 200 elevators and numerous warehouses.
Our Crew
Founder and Owner: Lincoln Dobson
Lincoln’s Right-Hand: Dee Funk
Dee is Lincoln’s ‘wifey’. They met in 2007. She does the books, is head of sales, and will be the one working with you through the details of your project. Lincoln and Dee are a down-to-earth couple, having both been raised in the entrepreneurial spirit, they understand budgets and common sense. They hope they are good stewards of this old-growth timber and they work hard to provide good honest products and craftsmanship.
Rene Barnabe started with LMT in 2016 as a Red Seal Carpenter. He brought all of his skills including his finish carpentry and cabinetry making, and now he is also a full Timber Framer.
Sophia Dobson is Lincoln’s daughter. She can be found on the mill, loading a semi-truck, in the office, fixing our machines or on-site raising a timber frame.
Mabel & Hazel, and Pearl can be found holding down the couches, helping Dee with sales or simply boosting morale.

Our track record and our word-of-mouth reputation speak to how we have a standing and growing client list that began in 1998.
